For over 40 years wgytc has created fresh and exciting theatre productions through our Core residential and Outreach programmes. Our alumni not only go onto work on a huge range of theatre, events and TV productions, but also a vast range of other careers from doctors, lawyers, teachers, social workers… the list goes on, but the one thing they have in common in their chosen careers are the skills developed at wgytc.

You can find out more information about the shows we’ve created here.

We’d love for as many young people as possible to experience working with wgytc – our only criteria is you must be aged between 11 and 21 and live or go to school/college in the Swansea or Neath Port Talbot areas.

On Sunday 20th January 2019 (10am-6pm) we will be holding an open day workshop at Gower College Swansea (Gorseinon Campus). Here you can work with wgytc tutors and get a taste of a wgytc course – we’ll be offering sessions in acting, singing, movement, design, stage management and technical theatre. During the day we’ll also be looking for new recruits for our Winter project, so if you’re available, you can apply to be a part of that too!

Winter 2019 project

Monday 25th February – Friday 1st March – (rehearsals) 10am – 6pm at Gower College Swansea (Gorseinon Campus)

Saturday 2nd March (performance day) approx 10am – 10pm at Taliesin Arts Centre

If you’re available for all of the times and dates above, you can also audition to be a part of our Winter project. The performance will be a collaboration between our Core and Outreach Companies, culminating in a performance at the Taliesin Arts Centre, a 330 seat state of the art theatre in Swansea. You’ll also get to work with our existing students and our staff who come from a range of backgrounds within education and the performing arts.

The cost of the Winter project will be £150.

Even if you can’t commit to our Winter project (or aren’t sure yet) you can still come along to our open day to get a taste of what wgytc is all about.

To take part in our open day just click here to complete our application form. The day is free, and you won’t have to prepare anything, just turn up and be yourself!
